BEAUTYLISH LUCKY BAG 2017

Fukubukuro it's a japanese tradition, fukubukuro means mystery or lucky bag.
In Japan to celebrate the start of the new year a lot of shops sell all kind of lucky bags (clothes, makeup, various items..), basically you spend a certain amount and the bag is supposed to be worth at least double the price.
They actually wait in very long lines to get the best bags, because sometimes the lucky bag are not so lucky, you can also find unsold passed collections items, but thats's all the fun and the excitement.
Beautylish took inspiration from  this Japanese tradition and every new year it launches limited edition mystery lucky bags.
There are two kinds of lucky bags: the regular one costs $ 75 and it's supposed to have at least $ 150 value, the XL lucky bag costs $ 150 and it's supposed to have at least $ 300.
To purchase them you need to be subscribed to a mailing list, you can access the XL bag list only when you spent at least $ 1000 per year on the Beautylish website.
The bags are totally random, some of them can be extra lucky and have more products.
Beautylish ships internationally and the website extimates custom fees so you have to make only one payment.
The free shipping option with a certain amount of purchase is disabled when you buy a lucky bag.
For example in my case I had to pay $ 20 shipping and then $ 19 custom fees, for a $ 114 total.
This was my first order from Beautylish, the whole experience was really nice, I also had the chance to chat with someone from the customer service that really helped me with my order.
Let's see if I was lucky!

Nella tradizione giapponese si chiama Fukubukuro, ossia borsa misteriosa o fortunata.

In occasione dell'inizio del nuovo anno in Giappone, molti negozi vendono ad una somma fissa queste lucky bag, dei sacchetti di loro prodotti (vestiti, cosmetici, gadgets etc.) dal contenuto misterioso che di solito valgono almeno il doppio della cifra spesa.

In Giappone si creano file lunghissime per accaparrarsi le lucky bag migliori, perchè non sempre si tratta di contenuti fortunati, infatti si può trovare anche la merce invenduta delle collezioni passate, ma è proprio il rischio che rende questa tradizione così divertente.

Il sito americano Beautylish, ispirandosi alle fukubukuro, all'inizio dell'anno mette a disposizione delle lucky bag in edizione limitata.

Ci sono due tipologie di lucky bag, la regular costa 75$ e promette un contenuto di almeno 150$, la XL costa invece 150$ e promette un contenuto di almeno 300$.
Per poterle acquistare bisogna essere iscritti alla mailing list, inoltre per quella XL bisogna aver fatto ordini sul sito di Beautylish per almeno 1000$ in un anno.
Le lucky bag sono riempite a caso, e alcune possono essere super fortunate e contenere più prodotti per un valore ancora maggiore.
Beautylish ha la spedizione internazionale che comprende anche la dogana, quindi ogni ordine vi arriva senza dover pagare nulla in più di quanto già speso.
Per le lucky bag la spedizione non è gratuita, per quelle internazionali infatti è di 20$ a cui si deve aggiungere il costo delle tasse doganali, quindi la lucky bag da 75$ finisce per costare circa 114€.
Sono riuscita ad acquistare la regular lucky bag ed è stato il mio primo ordine sul sito di Beautylish, durante il mio acquisto ho anche chattato con il costumer service che mi ha chiarito ogni possibile dubbio e mi sono trovata davvero bene.
Andiamo a vedere se sono stata fortunata!

• RCMA No Color Powder ($ 12)

This translucent setting powder is very well known by MUA and beauty gurus, they use it for setting the makeup and baking.

I'm really curious to try it.

Questa polvere traslucida è molto famosa tra beauty gurus e MUA, viene utilizzata per fissare il makeup e anche per il baking senza appesantire il trucco.

E' sicuramente un prodotto interessante che sono curiosa di provare.

• CLEAN APOTHECARY Brush Shampoo ($ 15)

This is a solid soap to clean makeup brushes, you just need to wet the brush, swirl it on the soap a few times and rinse it off, then you will get clean soft bristles.

It's also vegan.

Questo è un sapone solido per pulire i pennelli, basta inumidire il pennello e passarlo sopra al sapone più volte e poi risciacquarlo per ottenere una pulizia efficace ma delicata.

E' un prodotto vegano.

• WAYNE GOSS Brush 02 powder brush ($ 35) 

Wayne Goss is a famous british MUA, he has a YouTube channel with over two millions subscribers and his own makeup brush line.

It's my very first time trying one of his brushes and I must say the bristles are so soft!

These makeup brushes are hand made in Japan and I'm really impressed by their quality.

Wayne Goss è un famoso MUA inglese, Youtuber con oltre due milioni di iscritti e creatore della propria linea di pennelli.

E' la prima volta che provo un suo pennello e devo dire che non ho mai toccato setole più morbide!

Questo in particolare serve per applicare illuminante, blush o anche per fare il contouring.

I suoi pennelli sono fatti a mano in Giappone e devo ammettere che sono rimasta davvero colpita dalla qualità di questo prodotto.

• IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil ($ 24)

Since my eyebrows are quite bushy and defined I've never tried to fix them in anyway, mainly because I'm scared to change my natural appearance.

This brow pencil by IT Cosmetics, though, looks interesting, it claims to be universal and that the color will adapt to the actual eyebrows' color.

I was a little bit skeptical, but after trying it I must admit that it works even for my dark eyebrows, I only need to learn how to apply it better and get used to the finished look.

Avendo le sopracciglia abbastanza folte e definite non mi sono mai cimentata nel disegnarle, temendo soprattutto di cambiare la mia espressione naturale.

Questa matita di IT Cosmetics, però, sembra davvero interessante, teoricamente dovrebbe essere universale ed adattarsi a tutti i colori. 

Pur essendo un po' scettica, dopo averla provata devo ammettere che il colore funziona anche per le mie sopracciglia, devo solo migliorare nell'applicazione ed abituarmi al risultato.

• BECCA Blushed With Light Palette ($ 34)

This blush palette is part of BECCA 2016 holidays collection, it contains three mineral blushes, but I will give you all the details in a dedicated blog post.

• NATASHA DENONA Eyeshadow Palette 5 09 ($ 48)

This was the most exciting surprise, an eyeshadows palette by Natasha Denona, famous MUA who has her own makeup line.
Her eyeshadows palette are super famous, mainly for the amazing pigmentation and quality.
Every lucky bag XL had a Natasha Denona 28 eyeshadows palette and since I couldn't get the XL I really hoped to get at least the 5 colors one because I really wanted to try these eyeshadows and I was lucky to get one!
I will post a review about this palette, but I can already tell you that I was really impressed!

Questa era sicuramente la sorpresa più attesa, una palette di ombretti di Natasha Denona, famosa MUA che ha lanciato la sua linea di prodotti per il makeup.
Le sue palette di ombretti sono famosissime, principalmente per la qualità e la pigmentazione degli ombretti.
Ogni lucky bag XL ha ricevuto una palette da 28 colori, io speravo ardentemente di ricevere quella da cinque perchè ero davvero curiosa di provarla  di persona.
Farò una review più dettagliata in un prossimo post, ma intanto vi posso anticipare che mi è piaciuta molto!

Let's do some maths, this regular lucky bag is worth $ 168, I paid $ 75 for the bag itself and $ 39 for custom fees and shipping, for a total of $ 114.
It would have been a total bargain if we could esclude shipping and fees, that reduce the actual profit ($ 61).
I'm quite happy with what I've received, none of the items is available in Italy and that makes it even more interesting to put to the test.
I only wish I would have got more "luxurious" products instead of the RMCA powder and the brush cleansing soap, but they are still useful products.
I will try and get one even next year, overall it was a very exciting and fun experience.
Quindi riassumendo, il valore totale della lucky bag è di $ 168, io ho speso $ 75 per la lucky bag e altri $ 39 per spese di importazione e spedizione, per un totale di $ 114.
Sicuramente se non contassimo dogana e spedizione sarebbe di per sè un ottimo affare, calcolando queste spese il margine di guadagno si assottiglia ($ 61).
Quanto al contenuto, sono contenta di provare prodotti che in Italia non sono reperibili e che non ho mai testato prima.
Avrei preferito ricevere due prodotti più "lussuosi" della RMCA powder e del sapone per pennelli, ma sono comunque prodotti utili.
Sicuramente cercherò di acquistarla anche l'anno prossimo perchè trovo questa idea davvero interessante e divertente.
