I found out about UOMA BEAUTY on Cult Beauty's website (UK beauty e-commerce) and I was immediately intrigued by the packaging and the vibrant color schemes.
I wanted to try getting to know the brand, so I placed quite a huge order, from eyeshadow palette to lipglosses and even eyeliner.
Let's get started with the review.
Ho scoperto UOMA BEAUTY sul sito di Cult Beauty (beauty e-commerce inglese), e sono subito rimasta colpita dal packaging e dall'intensità dei colori proposti.
Decisa a provare più prodotti possibile ho fatto un ordine piuttosto grosso, spaziando dagli ombretti ai gloss e persino all'eyeliner, ma andiamo con ordine.
BLACK MAGIC COLOUR PALETTE IN ALLURE (€ 52 CB website, € 39,95 UB website)
As usual, eyeshadow palettes are my favourite things to buy and this one just caught my eyes right away.
The packaging is very sleek and sturdy, the palette has a cardboard sleeve that has the same decoration.
It has a nice wide mirror and 10 eyeshadow pans with a combination of golds, greens, pink and purple.
Pigmentation is really nice, the mattes are really saturated vibrant colours and the pressed glitters give that beautiful wet metallic effect.
The darker mattes need to be applied quite carefully, since they are so pigmented, and the metallic/glittery shades might have fall out so I would bake under the eyes or do the base after the eyes to avoid the eventual mess.
If you apply them wet of course they will have a even more intense pay off.

Come sempre le palette occhi sono il prodotto che mi attira di più in assoluto e questa in particolare la trovo bellissima.
Il packaging è molto curato, la palette è protetta da una custodia in carta spessa che ne riprende il disegno.
All'interno troviamo un bello specchio 10 cialde di ombretti sui toni principalmente oro e verde con qualche accenno di rosa e viola scuro.
La pigmentazione degli ombretti è incredibile, gli opachi sono saturi e vibranti, poi abbiamo dei metallici che sono sostanzialmente glitter pressati che regalano un effetto bagnato e luminosissimo.
Per quanto riguarda gli opachi, soprattutto i due più scuri, è meglio prelevare poco prodotto visto che sono molto scriventi.
Per i glitter invece applicandoli bagnati si ha un risultato ancora più intenso, per evitare fall out meglio stendere un bello strato spesso di cipria sotto gli occhi oppure fare la base in un secondo momento.

BADASS ICON MATTE LIPSTICKS (€ 26,25 CB WEBSITE, € 21,95 UB website)
Lipsticks' packaging is also sleek and luxurious, satin white with the brand name carved on the cap and "A BADASS DOES NOT TALK ABOUT BEING A BADASS" written on the bottom half of the lipstick.
The caps have a magnetic closure and every lipstick is dedicated to an afroamerican icon.
I picked up Maya and Myriam, I couldn't find particular explanation on the website, so I researched a little myself and found two incredible women that could be the perfect match: Maya Angelou e Miriam Makeba (if I'm mistaken pease let me know in the comments below!), just by clicking on their names you will find out more about their amazing yet very difficult lives.
These matte lipsticks' texture is super creamy, light and comfortable on the lips, one swipe and you get full opacity.
The shades I chose turned out to be quite darker on me than what I expected from the website's swatches, but still wearable and gorgeous colours.
Maya is a dark rosy nude while Myriam is more a burgundy colour.

Anche in questo caso il packaging è davvero molto bello, bianco satinato con il nome del brand in rilievo ed una frase che cita "A BADASS DOES NOT TALK ABOUT BEING A BADASS".
La chiusura è magnetica e ogni rossetto è dedicato ad un'icona femminile della comunità afroamericana.
I rossetti che ho scelto sono Maya e Miriam, non ho trovato particolari spiegazioni sul sito del brand, quindi ho deciso di fare una piccola ricerca e penso di aver trovato le due incredibili donne che corrispondono a questi rossetti: Maya Angelou e Miriam Makeba (se sbaglio fatemelo sapere nei commenti!) di cui vi lascio il link a Wikipedia se volete saperne di più sulle loro vite difficili e straordinarie.
La texture di questi rossetti opachi è cremosa e leggera, sono confortevoli sulle labbra, con una sola passata si ha piena coprenza.
I colori che ho scelto risultano molto più scuri sul mio incarnato rispetto agli swatches che ho visto online, ma sono comunque belli da indossare.
Maya è un nude scuro rosato, mentre Myriam vira più al borgogna.

BOSS GLOSS LIQUID MARBLE (€ 23,80 CB website, € 7,95 UB Website)
This product is quite peculiar, it's shiny like a gloss, has the pigmentation of a tint and a cooling effect when you apply it.
At the beginning it feels quite sticky, but then the more you wear it the more the stickiness goes away and the colour fades to leave a nice stain on the lips.
The formulation includes lychee extracts that should have soothing properties.
I got the shade Passion, a browny nude, and Rose, a strawberry pink.
Questo prodotto è davvero particolare, è lucido come un gloss, ha la coprenza di una tinta ed un effetto rinfrescante quando lo si applica.
All'inizio è un po' appiccicoso sulle labbra, ma man mano che lo si indossa questa sensazione sparisce, la pigmentazione diminuisce leggermente e lascia le labbra colorate.
La formula comprende anche estratti di lychee che ha proprietà emollienti.
Ho scelto le colorazioni Passion, un nude tendente al marrone e Rose, un color fragola.
AFRO.DIS.IAC LIQUID EYELINER (€ 19,50 CB website, € 16,95 UB website)
This purchase was quite a risk, I have hooded eyes and every liquid eyeliner ends up smudging and staining my eyelids, but every now and then I like to try it again and miserably fail.
Even this one sadly is no exception, I mean it has a nice felt tip and it's easy to apply, but it's just not for me, I don't reach out to use it and I always go back to my trusty pencil liners.
If you, unlike me, are into liquid eyeliners, this might be right for you.
Questo è stato un acquisto un po' azzardato, ma ogni tanto ho voglia di riprovare gli eyeliner liquidi, per poi rassegnarmi all'idea che non sono il prodotto che fa per me.
Ho le palpebre cadenti e gli eyeliner liquidi solitamente finiscono per macchiarle inesorabilmente.
Anche questo purtroppo non fa eccezione, la punta è molto flessibile ed è anche pratico da applicare, ma devo ammettere che ogni volta torno sempre ad usare le matite occhi.
In ogni caso se siete amanti degli eyeliner liquidi questo potrebbe fare al caso vostro.
Overall it's a really interesting brand, I love the inclusivity and also the meaning behind the names and the products, it feels like they also care about the value they stand for and I really appreciate it.
It's not a cheap brand, at least here in Europe, but I guess you pay for the quality and also for the fine packaging.
I suggest you to check it out, I also heard that their foundation is amazing.
Being the palest ghost on planet makes it quite difficult for me to buy foundation online, so I didn't, but I've heard great reviews.

Concludendo credo che sia un brand davvero interessante, mi ha colpito, oltre all'inclusività, l'idea di collegare ai nomi dei prodotti anche messaggi più impegnativi, mi dà l'idea che il loro team comunque cerchi di dimostrate concretamente i valori che lo contraddistingue e lo trovo notevole.
Sicuramente non è un brand economico, almeno in Europa, immagino si paghi per la qualità dei prodotti e per il packaging.
Vi consiglio di darci un 'occhiata perchè ne vale la pena, ho anche sentito parlare molto bene del loro fondotinta.
Essendo la mia pelle così chiara, non compro mai fondotinta online perchè è difficile trovare quello giusto, ma comunque ho visto ottime reviews.
