SEPHORA PRESS DAY HOLIDAY COLLECTIONS

At the beginning of october I was invited to attend the Sephora Italia Press Day in Milan and it was truly exciting!

Teatro Vetra, the location, was transformed in a cozy fun fair, with a carousel, sweets and cotton candy.

I had the opportunity to see a preview of all the new holidays collections and even all the new brands that will hit Sephora Italia's stores in the next few months.

Since there is a lot of stuff to cover, I will dedicate a post for each brand.

Sadly I haven't got samples to try so for most of the products will be my first impression at the press day and some useful info.

I also purchased myself a few things and I will write an in depth review about them.

I will also review the products that some super kind brand sent me after reaching out to me after the press day.

All'inizio di ottobre sono stata invitata al Sephora Press Day a Milano ed è stato davvero emozionante.

Il Teatro Vetra era stato trasformato in un piccolo Luna Park con tanto di giostra al centro, dolcetti e zucchero filato.

Ho avuto modo di conoscere in anteprima le collezioni ideate dai vari brand per le vacanze di Natale che si stanno avvicinando e anche tutti i nuovi marchi che arriveranno da Sephora nei prossimi mesi.

Visto che le novità sono davvero tante ho pensato di dedicare un post ad ogni brand, purtroppo non ho ricevuto campioni da provare quindi della maggior parte dei marchi potrò solo darvi la mia prima impressione, di altri ho acquistato già qualcosina e di quelli vi farò la review completa,così come di quei brand così carini da contattarmi ed inviarmi alcune cose da testare.

MAC | NICKI MINAJ Nude Lipsticks Collection

A true makeup addict could never have enough nude lipsticks, that's what Nicki Minaj should have thought while creating her line of products with MAC.
This collection includes 20 lipsticks ($ 17,50, some are limited edition some are permanent) and 6 glosses ($ 17) in every possible nude shade you can think of, from the palest ones to the deepest and rich ones.
Nicki Minaj actually curated only two of the lipsticks and you can easily recognize them from the packaging that matches the lipstick bullet color.

Un vero makeup addict non ha mai abbastanza rossetti nude, deve aver pensato questo Nicki Minaj quando ha deciso di collaborare con MAC per la sua linea di rossetti e gloss.

La collezione è infatti composta da 20 rossetti (19,50 €, alcuni in edizione limitata ed alcuni della linea permanente) e 6 gloss (14,50 €) in tutte le varianti nude possibili, dalle più chiare e lattiginose a quelle più scure ed intense.
Nicki Minaj ha effettivamente collaborato alla creazione di solo due rossetti che compongono la linea, si distinguono per il packaging colorato che riprende la nuance del rossetto.

From this collection I picked up the two Nicki Minaj lipsticks and two from the "normal" line.

Da questa collezione ho acquistato i due rossetti ideati proprio dalla cantante e altri due dalla linea diciamo "normale".

Nicki Minaj lipsticks have the MAC amplified finish and they are called:

- Pinkprint (limited edition), a baby pink, creamy and opaque which didn't actually perform so good on my lips. After I applied it I noticed right away that it settled on my lips lines and emphasized them. I think it's better to use combined with a primer and a lip liner.

- Nicki's Nude (limited edition), a peachy pink with warm undertones, it's bright, creamy and opaque, easy to apply and very comfortable on the lips, my favorite of the two.

I rossetti di Nicki Minaj sono due amplified e si chiamano:

- Pinkprint (limited edition), un rosa baby coprente e cremoso, che però mi ha lasciato un po' perplessa dopo l'applicazione.

Enfatizza infatti tutte le linee e le screpolature delle labbra, quindi è meglio applicarlo con un primer labbra ed una matita. 

- Nicki's Nude (limited edition), un rosa pescato caldo luminoso, pigmentato e coprente, facile da applicare e molto morbido, sicuramente il mio preferito tra i due.

The other two lipstick I purchased are:
- Baby's all right (limited edition), a rosy mauve with cool purple undertones, and a hint of grey. It has a matte finish, it's very pigmented and opaque.
- MMMMM (limited edition),  still a mauve but with warm undertones and a satin finish, even this one it's very pigmented and opaque.

Gli altri due rossetti che ho acquistato sono:
- Baby's all right (limited edition), un malva rosato dal sottotono freddo, tendente al viola con una punta di grigio. Ha un finish opaco, è coprente e pigmentato.
- MMMMM (limited edition), un malva rosato dal sottotono caldo e dal finish satinato, anche questo coprente e pigmentato.

You simply can't go wrong with MAC lipsticks, with that yummy vanilla scent, the amazing shades and finishes variety and the pigmentation.

Come al solito non si pò sbagliare con i rossetti MAC, quel profumo di vaniglia, la varietà di nuances  e finish e la pigmentazione.

FABY | EGO COLLECTION

A month ago I had the opportunity to attend to an event organized by Faby, well known italian nail products brand, to discover the new Ego collection.
In the beautiful Sheraton Diana Majestic Hotel in Milan we got to see all the new nail polishes.
Each one of the new 12 shades represents a different aspect of a woman's ego.
Some shades really stand out to me, such as Super Ego a rosy mauve with a hint of marsala that express charm and allure, My Darkness a deep dark blue that recall mystery and power, Io Io a scarlet red symbol of seduction, and its opposite Mirror of my soul, a satin ethereal white that represents purity.
Besides the classic glossy effect, we have two nail polishes with different finishes and textures.
First of all E-Gold, a gold glitters concentrate for maximum shine effect, but the most peculiar one is The Fairest, a sage green with a suede texture.
Faby nail polishes are vegan, cruelty free and 10 free which means they don't contain any of these polluting and harmful substances: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dybutyl Phtalate (DBP), Camphor, Formaldehyde Resin, Ethil Tosylamide, TPHP, Acetone, Parabens and Lead.

I really like this collection's colors palette, from the deepest to brightest, all well represent feminity in its unique complexity.

Circa un mese fa ho partecipato ad un evento organizzato da Faby, noto brand di prodotti per unghie made in Italy, per scoprire la nuova collezione Ego.

Nella bellissima cornice dell'hotel Sheraton Diana Majestic a Milano ho avuto modo di vedere tutte le nuove nuances di smalto pensate proprio per questo autunno/inverno.

Ognuna delle 12 nuove tonalità presentate rappresenta ed interpreta una sfaccettatura dell'ego femminile.

Tra queste spiccano sicuramente Super Ego, un rosa malva con una punta di marsala che esprime tutto il fascino femminile, My Darkness, un blu notte intenso che evoca mistero e potere, Io Io un rosso scarlatto simbolo di seduzione, ed il suo opposto Mirror of my soul, un bianco satinato quasi etereo sinonimo di purezza.

Oltre al classico finish lucido, abbiamo due smalti che giocano con texture e finish differenti, in primis E-Gold che al suo interno racchiude una moltitudine di micro glitter dorati, ma quello che mi ha colpito di più è sicuramente The Fairest, un verde salvia che regala alle unghie un effetto suede, davvero particolare.

Gli smalti Faby sono cruelty free, vegani e 10free, essere 10free significa che gli smalti Faby (più di 250 tonalità diverse) sono privi di queste sostanze inquinanti e nocive per la salute: Formadelide, DBP, Toluene, Resina di Formaldeide, Canfora, Acetone, Piombo, Parabeni, Ethyl Tosilamide e TPHP (Trifenil Fosfato). 
I colori di questa collezione mi piacciono molto, sia le nuances più intense che quelle più luminose riescono a rappresentare la femminilità nella sua particolare complessità.

URBAN DECAY | NAKED HEAT EYESHADOW PALETTE

The Naked Heat ($ 54) is the latest palette in the Urban Decay Naked family, it follows the warm  tones coppery eye look trend which is still very popular in the makeup community.

This palette's launch generated a lot of controversy, there were some awful swatches combined with enthusiastic reviews, so I thought it was just about time to test it for myself.

Let's start with the packaging, it's shaped like the other Naked palettes, it has a magnetic closure like the Naked Smoky palette.
It's made out off a sturdy plastic material and it definitively has a cool graphic that reminds a fire or a sunset, I really like it.
Inside we have a nice large mirror, 12 eyeshadows and a double ended brush.
As you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadows are very pigmented. 
There are three different finishes: matte, satin and metallics with a matte prevalence.

The eyeshadows are a little bit powdery, but a little goes a long way and if you tap the brush before the application you won't experience any fall out.
I always use UD brushes that come with the palette, but this one's bristles are a little bit too harsh for this kind of eyeshadows, that's why it's better to use a softer bristles brush with a light hand.
To enhance even more the metallic shadows use any kind of fixing spray.
I pulled off quite a number of eye looks with this palette and I really like it, I used my trusty concealer as a base and they lasted for ever on my oily eyelids.
It's obviously not a unique palette, but if you are in the market for a coppery warm toned palette with a nice combo of matte and metallics this one might be the one for you.

Ultima arrivata in casa Urban Decay la palette Naked Heat (€ 51) interpreta le ultime tendenze makeup, ossia un look dai toni caldi con tutte le variazioni del bronzo.

Il lancio di questa palette è stato accompagnato da molte opinioni contrastanti, sono stati condivisi sia swatches impietosi che recensioni entusiastiche, quindi penso sia proprio il momento di dire la mia.

Partiamo dal packaging, la palette ha la classica forma delle altre Naked, la chiusura magnetica ricorda quella della Naked Smoky.
E' di plastica rigida e ha una grafica molto interessante che ricorda un fuoco oppure un bellissimo tramonto, mi piace molto.

All'interno troviamo un grande specchio, 12 ombretti ed un pennello doppio.

Come potete vedere dagli swatches gli ombretti sono molto pigmentati, i finishes sono opachi, satinati e metallici, con una prevalenza di ombretti opachi.

Sono ombretti un po' polverosi, ma prelevando poco prodotto e rimuovendo l'eccesso dal pennello si applicano e si sfumano facilmente e senza problemi.

Solitamente uso i pennelli contenuti all'interno delle palette di Urban Decay, ma credo che per questo tipo di ombretto le setole siano un po' troppo dure e rischiano di creare un po' di fall out, per questo credo che sia meglio usare pennelli con setole più morbide e usare una mano più leggera.

Per far risaltare al meglio gli ombretti metallici consiglio di utilizzare uno spray fissatore.

Ho creato vari look con questa palette e mi sono trovata benissimo, ho utilizzato un correttore come base e la durata degli ombretti è stata ottima.

Chiaramente non è una palette unica nel suo genere, visto che segue quello che è l'ultimo trend in fatto di ombretti, ma se siete alla ricerca di una palette dai toni caldi con una buona combinazione di colori opachi e metallici questa fa sicuramente al caso vostro.
