SEPHORA PRESS DAY HOLIDAY COLLECTIONS

At the beginning of october I was invited to attend the Sephora Italia Press Day in Milan and it was truly exciting!

Teatro Vetra, the location, was transformed in a cozy fun fair, with a carousel, sweets and cotton candy.

I had the opportunity to see a preview of all the new holidays collections and even all the new brands that will hit Sephora Italia's stores in the next few months.

Since there is a lot of stuff to cover, I will dedicate a post for each brand.

Sadly I haven't got samples to try so for most of the products will be my first impression at the press day and some useful info.

I also purchased myself a few things and I will write an in depth review about them.

I will also review the products that some super kind brand sent me after reaching out to me after the press day.

All'inizio di ottobre sono stata invitata al Sephora Press Day a Milano ed è stato davvero emozionante.

Il Teatro Vetra era stato trasformato in un piccolo Luna Park con tanto di giostra al centro, dolcetti e zucchero filato.

Ho avuto modo di conoscere in anteprima le collezioni ideate dai vari brand per le vacanze di Natale che si stanno avvicinando e anche tutti i nuovi marchi che arriveranno da Sephora nei prossimi mesi.

Visto che le novità sono davvero tante ho pensato di dedicare un post ad ogni brand, purtroppo non ho ricevuto campioni da provare quindi della maggior parte dei marchi potrò solo darvi la mia prima impressione, di altri ho acquistato già qualcosina e di quelli vi farò la review completa,così come di quei brand così carini da contattarmi ed inviarmi alcune cose da testare.

HOLIDAY MAKEUP | MARC JACOBS ABOUT LAST NIGHT PALETTE

This Marc Jacobs' palette is part of the holiday collection, it has a super luxurious packaging, the usual for this brand, even more festive with this shining gold.
Inside we have a huge mirror and 20 eyeshadows with various finishes, matte, shimmer, metallic and a few with micro glitters.
I love Marc Jacobs' eyeshadows, very soft and buttery to the touch and  very pigmented, as you can see from the swatches.
The colors and finishes ranges make this palette complete, we have highlighter, transition and deep shades.
Maybe it's missing a pop of color, but it's very wearable.
Since it's a luxury brand the price it's quite high ($ 99), Sephora Italia's website is offering a 20% off discount right now.

Questa palette di Marc Jacobs fa parte della holiday collection, ha un packaging super lussuoso come tutti i prodotti di questo brand, questa volta dorato e ancora più in tema con le feste.

All'interno troviamo, oltre ad un grande specchio, venti ombretti dai finish matte, shimmer, metallic e alcuni infusi con micro glitter.

Gli ombretti di Marc Jacobs sono davvero molto belli, sono burrosi al tatto e, come si vede dagli swatches, molto pigmentati.

La varietà di colori e di finish rende questa palette davvero completa, ci sono ombretti molto chiari per illuminare, nuances perfette come transizione, e toni più scuri per intensificare il look.

Forse manca qualche ombretto più colorato, ma la gamma proposta è sicuramente molto portabile.

Trattandosi di un brand piuttosto lussuoso, il prezzo è chiaramente elevato (94,90 €), ma in questo momento la trovate al 20% di sconto sul sito di Sephora (75,90 €).

If you purchased Marc Jacobs' holiday palette last year and you are wondering whether to buy or not the new one, I thought some swatches from the oldest one would make the comparison much easier.

We still have 20 eyeshadows with all the finishes matte, shimmer, metallic and a few with micro glitters.

In the oldest palette we do have some pop of colors, some purples, greens and silver and the darkest shades are all infused with micro glitters.

Some shades are pretty similar, like the matte white and cream ones and the coppery shade,  except those, I consider these two palettes quite different.

The new one has mainly earthy tones and it's pretty much complete, the oldest one has some pop of colors but no transition shade.

I actually like them both, and Marc Jacobs' eyeshadows quality is always amazing.

In caso abbiate acquistato la palette proposta sempre da Marc Jacobs l'anno scorso e non siate sicuri di voler acquistare anche quella nuova, ho pensato di farvi vedere gli swatches per paragonarle.

La palette dell'anno scorso ha sempre 20 ombretti con finish matte, shimmer, metallic e glitters.

Rispetto a quella nuova c'è qualche colore più acceso, alcune tonalità di verde, viola, e argento e gli ombretti più scuri sono tutti infusi con dei micro glitter.

Alcuni ombretti si somigliano molto, ad esempio alcuni colori bianchi e panna opachi, e il color rame, per il resto direi che sono palette sostanzialmente diverse, quella nuova vira più su toni neutri mente quella dell'anno scorso ha più ombretti accesi, ma mancano tuttavia dei colori di transizione.

Nel complesso mi piacciono entrambe, apprezzo che quella nuova sia sostanzialmente completa e mi piacciono i colori un po' più stravaganti di quella vecchia, in ogni caso quanto a qualità Marc Jacobs è una sicurezza!

MAC HOLIDAYS COLLECTION 2015

As we all expected MAC came out with a new holiday collection Magic Of The Night.

It's basically a whole lotta products, including various sets of lipsticks, pigments, brushes, palettes and everything else you can think of and ask for.

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of this kind of collection, mainly because they revamp permanent products with a new limited edition packaging, which usually is amazing I know, and the price keep rising up, so, at least for me, it's not worth it.

My goal is to find the hidden gems, the true limited edition created only for the new collection which are not that easy to find.

This time two products were all over Instagram, a lipstick and a highlighter.

Anche quest'anno la MAC ha creato una vastissima collezione tutta dedicata alle feste, Magic of the Night, ci sono tantissimi set di pigmenti, rossetti, pennelli, palettes per tutti i gusti, insomma chi più ne ha più ne metta.

Devo ammettere che non vado pazza per le holidays collection di MAC, il packaging è, spesso e volentieri, meraviglioso, ma vengono solitamente riproposti prodotti della linea permanente con un notevole sovraccarico di prezzo, e quindi, a mio parere, non ne vale la pena.

Il mio obbiettivo è andare alla ricerca delle gemme nascoste, ossia quei prodotti in edizione limitata ideati appositamente per la nuova collezione non reperibili facilmente.

In questo caso due prodotti rimbalzavano ossessivamente su Instagram, un rossetto ed un highlighter.

MAC MAGIC OF THE NIGHT EXTRA DIMENSION SKIN FINISH OH DARLING

This highlighter is intense, almost metallic, in a lovely pale gold shade.

Pigmentation is on point, thanks to the soft texture and I guarantee you it will turn heads.

There was so much hype about this product because of its similarity to another extra dimension skin finish by MAC, Wisper of Gilt, a limited edition that broke many beauty addicts' hearts. 

After comparing all the swatches I see they look really similar, although I do prefer Oh darling.

E' un illuminante intenso, quasi metallizzato, color oro chiaro. La pigmentazione è ottima, si applica facilmente grazie alla sua texture setosa, sicuramente non passa inosservato.

Tutta l'attenzione rivolta a questo prodotto è dovuta, non soltanto al fatto che sia veramente bello, ma soprattutto alla sua somiglianza con un altro extra dimension skin finish, Wisper of gilt, che essendo in edizione limitata ha spezzato il cuore di molte beauty addicts.

Dagli swatches che ho trovato online si nota effettivamente una certa somiglianza, anche così a prima vista penso proprio che Oh darling mi piaccia di più.

MAC MAGIC OF THE NIGHT LIPSTICK EVENING RENDEVOUZ

Evening Rendevouz is a matte lipstick with an interesting color.

It's a dark plum with red/pink warm undertones. 

I definitively stepped out my comfort zone buying it, because it's not something I would normally wear.

It's easy to apply, it glides effortlessy without smudging in the fine lines, it last quite a lot and it fades to a light fuchsia stain.

Evening Rendevouz è un rossetto opaco dal colore davvero particolare, si tratta di un viola intenso dal sottotono rosso/rosa caldo.

Ho scelto di uscire dalla mia comfort zone acquistandolo, sicuramente non è il tipico rossetto da tutti i giorni, però è un colore davvero interessante.

Si applica facilmente, scorre bene sulle labbra senza sbavare, ha un'ottima durata e quando svanisce lascia una lieve macchia fuchsia.
