MAC LATEST COLLECTIONS ROUND UP | Ellie Goulding, Zac Posen, Chris Cang, Charlotte Olympia, Dita Von Tease, Brooke Candy, Caitlyn Jenner

I realized I have accumulated quite a few (I mean a lot!) MAC products over these months and I've never shared them with you, so I think now it's about time, since you might be still interested in seeing them and they might still be available in some MAC stores, online or on Amazon.
Grab a drink and a snack because this will be definitively a long one!

Mi sono resa conto di aver accumulato un po' (voglio dire molti!) di prodotti MAC delle passate collezioni e di non averne mai parlato sul blog.

Quindi, come ho già fatto in questo vecchio post, vi farò un riassunto in caso vogliate ancora acquistare alcuni prodotti, perchè spesso nonostante la frenesia iniziale delle limited edition molti pezzi rimangono in store.
Prendetevi uno snack e magari qualcosa da bere perchè questo post sarà bello lungo di sicuro!

MAC X ELLIE GOULDING

Famous singer Ellie Goulding collaborated with MAC to create this limited edition collection that came out last winter.

The packaging is shiny black with her initials EG embossed inside a triangle, both in rose gold.

The collection is clearly inspired by Ellie Goulding's signature ethereal look, mainly contrast between light and dark with a lot of pink.

I purchased three items from this collection:

• Only You, a  peachy pink lipstick, with warm undertone in the cremesheen finish. It's not super pigmented, but it gives a really nice touch of color on the lips and it's very comfortable as well;
• I'll hold my breath blush duo, it has a deeper bronzer with a light gold shimmer and a corally blush, both of the shades are soft but not super pigmented, still very nice and portable;
• Halcyon Days Palette, inside this palette we have four cream colour bases (Wished I Stayed, Tint, Every Time You Go and Root) and a blot powder. Cream colour bases can be applied on the face, the eyes and lips. They can be used alone or as a base for other products and the pigmentation is buildable. The only product that for me doesn't reach my standards is the blot powder, overall it seems quite chalky and patchy, which is always a drawback.

La famosa cantante inglese Ellie Goulding ha collaborato con MAC per creare questa collezione in edizione limitata uscita lo scorso inverno.

Il packaging è nero con le iniziali EG all'interno di un tondo inserito all'interno di un triangolo, tutto in oro rosa.

La collezione si ispira chiaramente al look etereo di Ellie Goulding, un gioco di chiaroscuri e il predominare dei toni del rosa.

Ho acquistato tre prodotti di questa collezione:

• Only You, un rossetto cremesheen rosa pesca dal sottotono caldo, caratterizzato da una lieve perlescenza che regala un tocco di luce, non troppo pigmentato, confortevole sulle labbra;
• I'll hold my breath blush duo, si compone di due tonalità, un bronzer dal sottotono caldo con un lieve effetto shimmer dorato ed un blush corallo acceso dal finish satinato. La consistenza di entrambi è setosa, anche qui la pigmentazione non è eccessiva, ma comunque molto carino;
• Halcyon Days Palette, composta da quattro cream color base (Wished I Stayed, Tint, Every Time You Go e Root) ed una blot powder (Medium Dark). i cream color base sono, appunto, in crema e possono venire utilizzati, sul viso, sugli occhi e sulle labbra. Posso venire applicati da soli o come base per prodotti in polvere ed hanno una pigmentazione modulabile. L'unico prodotto nì di questa palettina molto carina è la blot powder un po' troppo polverosa durante l'applicazione.

MAC X ZAC POSEN

 

Next collab is between MAC and famous newyorker designer Zac Posen, from this elegant collection, with this super sleek grey and gold packaging, I got:

• Eye Z You Palette, it's a six eyeshadows palette (Cozy Grey, Performance Art, Palatable, Phloof!, After Dusk, Mauve Over) with purple and grey tones. Pigmentation is quite good, some shadows are a little bit stiff to work with, but overall I think it's nice;
• Dangerously Red, it's a vibrant fuchsia lipstick with blue undertone and matte finish, super pigmented and easy to apply.

Altra collaborazione importante quella tra MAC e lo stilista newyorkese Zac Posen, di questa collezione dal packaging grigio scuro e oro a contrasto (davvero bellissimo) ho acquistato:

• Eye Z You Palette, con sei ombretti (Cozy Grey, Performance Art, Palatable, Phloof!, After Dusk, Mauve Over) dai toni del viola e del grigio. La pigmentazione è abbastanza buona, solo alcuni ombretti sono un po' più difficili da lavorare, ma nel complesso una palettina interessante;
• Dangerously Red, un fuchsia vibrante dal sottotono blue e dal finish matte, pigmentatissimo, coprente e facile da applicare.

MAC X CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA

Next stylist next collaboration, this time is all about the shoes and accessories designer Charlotte Olympia, with her retro vibe and a hint of humour which is always a bonus.
This collection was one of my favorite and I definitely splurged on it:

• Retro Rouge, I picked up this lipstick from the collection (there were three Leading Lady Red and Starlett Scarlet) because to me it really stood out as the most peculiar. If you take a look at the swatches in picture it's the one in the middle, a matte dark burgundy red, very pigmented, easy to apply and long lasting;
• Lipmix Red and Crimson, lipmixes are part of the PRO line, often used by muas on runaways. They are very pigmented colours, you need just a tiny bit to achieve full and long lasting coverage. They need a brush to be applied and they can also be mixed to obtain different shades;
• Overdressed, it's a light bright beige with a hint of peach pigment. It's not incredibly pigmented so I would apply it with a little bit of fix plus or a wet brush.
• Studio Nail Laquered To Have or To Have Not, Old Fashioned, I got these two nail laquer mainly because of the packaging, com'on it's gorgeous! It reminds me somehow of the Christian Loubotin nail polishes, with this pointy gold cap. These two reds are very beautiful and fall appropriate.

Altra stilista altra collaborazione, questa volta è il turno di Charlotte Olympia, famosa designer di scarpe ed accessori, dal gusto un po' retrò combinato con un pizzico di ironia, che non guasta mai.

Questa collezione è stata sicuramente una delle mie preferite ed ho acquistato vari pezzi:

• Retro Rouge, tra i tre rossetti della collezione (Leading Lady Red e Starlett Scarlet) ho scelto quello, a mio parere, più particolare. Negli swatches che vedete in foto è il colore nel mezzo, un rosso scuro borgogna molto pigmentato matte, che si applica facilmente sulle labbra ed ha un'ottima tenuta;
• Lipmix Red e Crimson, i lipmix fanno parte della linea PRO, vengono utilizzati spesso nelle sfilate dai mua. Sono delle tinte labbra super pigmentate, ne basta davvero pochissimo per ottenere un colore pieno a lunga tenuta. Vanno applicate con un pennello labbra e possono essere miscelate per creare colori diversi;
• Cream Color Base Golden Age, prodotto in crema che può essere utilizzato su occhi, viso e bocca. Io lo uso solitamente come ombretto steso su tutta la palpebra per un look d'effetto veloce oppure come base per altri ombretti. Questa tonalità mi piace molto, è un oro caldo che vira al bronzo ed ha una lieve perlescenza luminosa;
• Overdressed, è un pigmento beige, quasi pesca, super luminoso. Non è particolarmente pigmentato quindi consiglio di applicarlo con un po' di fix plus per ottenere un colore pieno;
• Studio Nail Laquered To Have or To Have Not, Old Fashioned, inutile negare, ho acquistato questi due smalti principalmente per il packaging, la bottiglietta ha la base esagonale ed un lungo tappo a punta dorato che sembra quasi un tacco a spillo. Sono due rossi intensi, il primo più classico ed acceso, il secondo più scuro quasi bordeaux.

MAC VIBE TRIBE

This collection is inspired by tribal prints, with a lot of colors and geometric design. It's a wide range of products, two eyeshadow palettes, five lipsticks with different finishes, two blushes and a highlighter, some limited edition brushes and a multicolored pressed powder.

This is what I picked up from this collection:

• Call Of The Canyon, it's the first quad, with gold and copper shades. All the eyeshadows (Call of the Canyon, Fool's Gold, Summer Sun, Thunderbolt) are very pigmented and I must say that I reach for this palette almost everyday, it's really gorgeous and it has become on of my favorite;
• Hot Chocolate, it's a muted dark mauve matte lipstick. It's opaque and pigmented, easy to apply and longlasting. 

Collezione ispirata al design tribale, piena di colori e disegni geometrici. Si sostanzia in due palette ombretti, cinque rossetti dai finish differenti, due blush ed un illuminante, dei pennelli in edizione limitata, ed infine una polvere multicolore luminosa.

Di questa collezione ho acquistato:

• Call Of The Canyon, una palette caratterizzata dai toni dell'oro e del bronzo. Gli ombretti (Call of the Canyon, Fool's Gold, Summer Sun, Thunderbolt) sono tutti pigmentati e scriventi, devo ammettere che sto usando questa palette da qualche mese ed è diventata una delle mie preferite in assoluto;
• Hot Chocolate, un rossetto malva scuro, dal sottotono caldo e dal finish satinato. Coprente e pigmentato, si applica facilmente ed ha una buona durata.

MAC X BROOKE CANDY

This is the second collection  created with the controversial rapper Brooke Candy.

It's mainly focused on lip products, you can see all the swatches in the pictures.

There are:

• four lipsticks Mind Control (Amplified), Witching Hour (Matte), Doo-Wop (Matte), Whirl (Matte) the last one is in the permanent collection;
• two Vamplify Till Death Do Us Part and Pamela;
• two lip pencils Whirl and Black Stallion.

From this collection I only got Whirl lipstick, even though it's permanet I didn't have it in my collection and I really like the black and silver packaging.

Questa è la seconda collaborazione con la controversa rapper californiana Brooke Candy.

Per quanto riguarda i prodotti labbra, che trovate tutti swatchati in foto, abbiamo:

• quattro rossetti Mind Control (Amplified), Witching Hour (Matte), Doo-Wop (Matte), Whirl (Matte) quest'ultimo fa parte della collezione permanente; 
• due Vamplify Till Death Do Us Part e Pamela;
• due matite labbra Whirl e Black Stallion.

Di questa collezione ho acquistato solo il rossetto Whirl, anche se permanente, perchè il packaging argentato con macchie di colore nero mi ha davvero stregato.

MAC X CAITLYN JANNER

All the sale proceeds of this lipstick, Finally Free, created in collaboration with Caitlyn Jenner, go to the MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Intiative.

It's a muted dark pink with cremesheen finish, it's quite pigmented and very nice on the lips.

I proventi ricavati dalla vendita di questo rossetto Finally Free, nato dalla collaborazione con Caitlyn Jenner, vengono devoluti al MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Intiative.

Si tratta di un cremesheen rosa scuro dal sottotono neutro e dal finish luminoso, piuttosto pigmentato e confortevole sulle labbra. 

MAC X CRHIS CHANG 

Fashion plays a big role in most of MAC collaboration, this one is created with eclectic designer Chris Chang, which is famous for her colorful prints, inspired by Tibet and Mongolia traditional costumes.
The packaging is spectacular, a feast of colors and designs with a variety of shapes and subjects. Definitively the most beautiful MAC packaging ever.
Here's what I got:

• Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder, a translucent pressed powder to mattify and set the makeup;
• Cream Colour Base Rich Coral, this cream product can be applied on the cheecks and on the lips, it's a lovely fresh and  bright coral;
• Vermillion Vee, a vibrant corally red, super opaque and pigmented, with warm undertone and a satin finish (even thought it's described as matte).

Una nuova collaborazione con la moda, è il momento di Chris Chang estrosa designer, famosa per le sue stampe coloratissime, ispirate ai costumi tradizionali di minoranze etniche di paesi come il Tibet e la Mongolia.

Il packaging, infatti, è spettacolare, un tripudio di colori e figure che ritraggono i soggetti più disparati. A mio parere uno dei packaging per MAC più belli in assoluto. 

Questi sono i miei acquisti:

• Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder, una cipria compatta traslucida perfetta per opacizzare e fissare il trucco;
• Cream Colour Base Rich Coral, prodotto in crema da poter applicare sulle labbra o sul viso in questa tonalità aranciata, fresca e delicata davvero carina;
• Vermillion Vee, un rossetto rosso corallo super intenso, ha un sottotono caldo e, sebbene sia definito matte, ha un finish satinato. E' coprente, molto pigmentato, cremoso e facile da applicare.

MAC X DITA VON TEASE

Sexy icon, vintage beauty, Dita Von Tease gave her surname at this warm bright red (Von Tease), created with MAC to celebrate her last book launch.
The packaging is very cute, there is a beautiful photo of Dita on the box, the lipstick's name is written in red on the cardboard box and once again Dita is engraved on the lipstick bullet.
It has a matte finish and it's very creamy, it's very easy to apply and pigmentation is on point.

Icona sexy dalla bellezza vintage, Dita Von Tease ha dato il suo nome (Von Tease) a questo rosso caldo acceso, ideato per celebrare l'uscita del suo ultimo libro.
Il packaging è davvero carino, sula scatola troviamo una foto del bellissimo viso di Dita, Von Tease scritto in rosso sul contenitore del rossetto e  ancora una volta Dita inciso sul lipstick bullet.
Il finish è opaco e la consistenza è cremosa. Si applica facilmente sulle labbra ed è super pigmentato.
