NARS LIP PENCIL SET & BLUSH PALETTE (Holiday Collection 2014)

I know I know, this collection is already dated and maybe you're wondering why am I talking about it now.

Since I've a very little time to update my beloved blog regularly, I'm not always on time with what's new or what I've bought, but I do like to talk about what I've purchased anyway, because those products are eventually still available, maybe not in the same set but in a different one, so I think a review still can be useful :)

Two weeks before Christmas I went to Milan to attend a Chagall Exhibition, that was an amazing experience.

I managed to make a quick stop by Sephora, since in Milan they have much more brands available than in Bologna's stores.

My favourite Sephora store has to be the one in the Brian&Berry Building, that I consider an international corner in Milan, a department store with 10 flores of stores and fancy restaurants.

The Sephora store in this building has some exclusive brands (like Hourglass which is sold only here in my whole country!) and also offers a complete beauty experience.

Inside we have a room all dedicated to perfumes, very special and unique ones, and in the makeup area there is a software that suggest you which colors to pick according to your skin tone, your eyes color etc.

They also sell NARS products, which sadly I can't find in my local store, so when I saw the limited edition collection for Christmas Holidays I was super happy.

This is what I've purchased:

Lo so lo so, questa collezione è passata da un pezzo e voi vi starete chiedendo perchè ne parlo adesso.

Un po' per colpa della mia disorganizzazione e del mio poco tempo, non sono sempre al passo con le novità e i miei acquisti, ma preferisco parlarvi comunque di questi prodotti anche perchè spesso sono ancora disponibili, magari non nello stesso identico set o packaging, e quindi una review può ancora essere utile :)

Prima di Natale ho fatto un salto a Milano perchè volevo assolutamente vedere la mostra di Chagall, ed è stata un'esperienza indimenticabile.

Ovviamente sono riuscita ad incastrare anche un giro da Sephora, visto che a Milano hanno molti più marchi e più disponibilità di prodotti rispetto a Bologna.

La mia Sephora preferita è sicuramente l'ultima aperta che si trova all'interno del Brian&Barry Building, un angolo di internazionalità a Milano, un department store che si sviluppa in verticale tra negozi e ristoranti.

La Sephora che si trova qui è diversa dalle altre, non solo perchè vende in esclusiva alcuni brand (come ad esempio Hourglass), ma anche perchè propone un'esperienza di bellezza a 360 gradi.

All'interno una sala dedicata all'olfatto, con fragranze speciali e particolari, nel reparto makeup un computer ci consiglia quali sono i prodotti più adatti dopo aver analizzato la nostra immagine, una Sephora davvero all'avanguardia.

Tra i brand che non riesco a reperire a Bologna il francesissimo NARS, che per Natale ha proposto una limited edition (che in alcuni Sephora è ancora disponibile) davvero interessante.

Questi sono i due set che ho acquistato:

• NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Set

The colors in order are:

Torres Del Paine - peachy light pink satin finish

Descanso - light tea rose satin finish

Yu - bright fuchsia with cool undertones satin finish

Iberico - vivid orange red matte finish

Cruella - scarlet red with cool undertones matte finish

All the colors are very opaque and pigmented, the ones with matte finish are more dry than the other ones that are a little bit more creamy.

I colori in ordine sono:

Torres Del Paine - rosa pesca satinato

Descanso - rosa chiaro antico satinato

Yu - fuchsia acceso dal sottotono freddo satinato

Iberico - rosso arancione intenso opaco

Cruella - rosso scuro con sottotono freddo opaco

Sono tutti coprenti e pigmentati, si applicano molto facilmente proprio grazie alla punta sottile e precisa. 

Ovviamente quelli dal finish matte non sono idratanti, ma non seccano nemmeno particolarmente le labbra. Gli altri sono lievemente più cremosi.

• NARS Virtual Domination Blush Palette

The colors in swatch order are:

Laguna Bronzer - medium/dark brow with a golden sheen

Sex Fantasy - pale lavander pink

Final Cut - warm orange

Deep Throat - peachy pink with a int of gold

Miss Liberty - highlighting blush

Everyone is crazy about NARS blushes and bronzer, since I've never tried one I decided to get this palette which is perfect to start to know a little bit more about this brand.

Honestly I'm happy that the super famous Orgasm blush is not included in this palette, I'm not a fan of gold glittered blushes simply because I have combination to oily skin and glitters are not my friends!

All the colors are very pretty and versatile, I wish they were more soft or at least that's how I expected them to be.

They are all pigmented and easy to blend anyway.

Laguna Bronzer - marrone medio/scuro con un bagliore dorato

Sex Fantasy - rosa pallido tendente al lilla

Final Cut - rosa arancione dal sottotono caldo

Deep Throat - rosa pesca lievemente dorato

Miss Liberty - highlighting blush

Tutte le beauty bloggers vanno pazze per i bush della NARS, io non ne avevo mai provato nessuno quindi questa palette mi sembrava perfetta per iniziare. Intanto sono contenta che all'interno non ci sia il tanto acclamato blush Orgasm, perchè i glitter dorati non vanno molto d'accordo con la mia pelle mista/grassa.

I colori sono davvero belli e versatili, onestamente li avrei preferiti più burrosi e meno duri, o meglio me li aspettavo più morbidi, comunque sono pigmentati e si sfumano bene.

Here in Italy is kinda difficoult to get free samples with your purchase, so that's why I think Sephora Durini is quite different from the other stores, just look at all the samples they gave me!

Tanto per farvi capire la "diversità" di Sephora Durini questi sono i campioncini che mi hanno lasciato a fronte del mio acquisto, peccato che per arrivarci io debba prendere il treno...
