Fukubukuro or Lucky Bags are a Japanese new year tradition, they are mystery bags sold for a certain amount of money but worth at least double.
In Japan many and different kind of stores sell lucky bags and they are so popular that people start queuing since the early morning to get at least one.
Not all lucky bags are actually lucky, usually inside the bag you can find unsold stock, maybe from past collections, but that's the risk you have to take if you are into this kind of things.
Beautylish, popular beauty online shopping website, every year sells two kinds of lucky bags (if you'd like to see what I got last year click here) : the regular one is $ 75 (shipping and customs are not included) and it should be worth at least $ 150, then there is the XL one which is $ 150 and it's guaranteed to have at least $ 300 value.
The XL lucky bag is available only in the States and you have to spend at least $ 1000 in one year to be eligible for it.
Anyway you have to subscribe to the mailing list to receive the email with the link to shop lucky bags, usually they are sold on the 26th of december.
If you are not in the States, your regular box will be around $ 115 including shipping and customs, which lower the profit, so bare this in mind if you are thinking about purchasing it next year.
Let's see what I found in 2018 Beautylish Fukubukuro:
In Giappone con l'arrivo del nuovo anno spopolano le Fukubukuro, o Lucky Bags, ossia delle "borse" dal contenuto misterioso (si spera fortunato) che vengono vendute ad un prezzo di gran lunga inferiore rispetto al valore degli oggetti in esse contenute.
Moltissimi negozi di vario tipo e di diversi brand le vendono e si creano lunghissime file sin dalle prime ore del mattino per potersele aggiudicare.
Non sempre però il contenuto si rivela essere quello sperato, perchè spesso all'interno delle Fukubukuro vengono inseriti oggetti rimasti invenduti, magari di collezioni risalenti nel tempo, ma è un rischio che fa parte del gioco.
Beautylish, popolare sito americano di cosmesi, ogni anno crea queste lucky bag (se volete vedere quello che ho trovato l'anno scorso cliccate qui) in due formati: uno regular al costo di 75 $ (escluse spese di spedizione e dogana) che promette di avere al suo interno prodotti per un valore di almeno 150$, ed uno XL al costo di 150 $, al quale si accede esclusivamente se residenti negli States e se si sono fatti acquisti sul sito del valore di almeno 1000 $, che dovrebbe avere al suo interno almeno 300$ di prodotti.
Ovviamente l'attesa e l'aspettativa per queste lucky bags è altissima, proprio per questo è necessario inscriversi alla mailing list in modo da essere sicuri di ricevere l'email con il link per accedere alla prevendita che solitamente avviene la mattina del 26 dicembre.
Ovviamente per noi povere vittime delle spese doganali il vantaggio economico si riduce ulteriormente, diciamo che incluse tutte le spese (spedizione e dogana) la lucky bag viene a costare circa 100 €, riducendo il possibile guadagno a meno di 50 $, ma in queste cose non si sa mai visto che il contenuto della fukubukuro potrebbe essere super fortunato.
Passiamo all'unboxing della mia Beautylish Lucky Bag 2018:
This little pot that smells like grapefruit is a solid soap to clean makeup brushes.
You only need to wet the brush, swirl it on the soap to create a rich foam and then rinse it.
I actually got the same item in last year's lucky bag but in a different scent.
I must say that I didn't use it at all, I guess it's because I'm a creature of habit and I like a simple delicate hand soap to clean my brushes, but also because I wasn't too keen on the smell of it.
This time I really want to try it, so I'll keep you posted about that.
Questo vasetto, profumato al pompelmo, contiene del sapone solido per lavare i pennelli, basta bagnare le setole e poi sfregarle gentilmente sul prodotto per ottenere una schiuma corposa, infine basta risciacquare per avere un pennello pulito.
Ho ricevuto lo stesso prodotto l'anno scorso (nella profumazione lavanda) e devo ammettere che non l'ho usato, un po' per l'odore che non mi faceva impazzire, un po' perchè sono molto abitudinaria e utilizzo un semplice sapone delicato per pulire i pennelli, ma visto che ne ho ricevuto uno anche quest'anno non posso fare a meno di utilizzarlo e vedere come mi trovo.

Dalla descrizione questo prodotto, cruelty free e privo di parabeni, solfati e ftalati, dovrebbe pulire a fondo la pelle rendendola più luminosa ed è anche utilizzabile come esfoliante se lasciato agire per 5-10 minuti.
I already know this brand, I've tried several of their eyeshadows pencil as well as the matte lipsticks ones and I find them really interesting.
The packaging is quite different than usual, they come in a box with a mirror and a sharpener inside which is perfect for a little touch up on the go.
This is a lips and cheeks balm, so it has a glossy finish and it's quite nourishing.
I would describe this color rebel as a bubblegum pink with a int of mauve, which it's not my favorite I must say, but I can still pull it of.
Conoscevo già questo brand, infatti ho acquistato sia i loro matitoni per occhi che per labbra e devo dire che sono prodotti piuttosto interessanti.
Il packaging è molto diverso dal solito, nella scatolina che contiene il matitone c'è uno specchio ed un temperino il che è ottimo da mettere in borsa per un ritocchino on the go.
In questo caso il matitone labbra e guance è un balsamo super idratante.
Il colore Rebel è un bubblegum pink con un accenno di rosa malva, non è il mio colore preferito ma è abbastanza portabile.
Since I found a Wayne Goss brush in my last year Beautylish lucky bag i've been obsessed with it.

Dopo questa premessa è evidente la mia gioia di poter provare un nuovo pennello di Wayne Goss, questa volta si tratta di un pennello di precisione per sfumare l'ombretto nella piega dell'occhio e io non vedo l'ora di metterlo alla prova!
This is Jeffree Star's interpretation of a neutral eyeshadows palette, which means intense colors.
The eyeshadows are really buttery and pigmented, as you can see in the swatches picture.
This is obviously a first impression, I still haven't played with it so I will let you know my opinion after I tested it.
Questa è la neutral palette così come viene interpretata da Jeffree Star, quindi ricca di colori intensi.
Gli ombretti sono veramente burrosi al tatto e dagli swatches si vede quanto siano pigmentati.

Nella Lucky Bag ho trovato questo illuminante dal packaging davvero singolare che ricorda proprio un lingotto d'oro.
Ho letto reviews contrastanti, quindi non avevo grandissime aspettative, ma mi sono dovuta ricredere non appena l'ho swatchato.
Ha una texture quasi cremosa ed è molto pigmentato, si sfuma facilmente e lascia la pelle veramente luminosa.

This one is the Bridal version, so I guess it's going to be a really illuminating setting spray which is very common for bridal makeup.
I'm not sure if it will be compatible with my combination to oily skin,I usually tend to focus the glow only in selected spots, such as the cheek bones, to avoid looking like a disco ball, but I will update you with my final thoughts.

Questa è la versione Bridal, quindi immagino che abbia un finish luminoso, tipico del trucco da sposa.
Non so come si accorderà con la mia pelle mista/grassa, infatti io cerco sempre di ridurre al minimo i punti di luce proprio per evitare il look disco ball, quindi vi farò sapere come si comporta sulla mia pelle.
I did the maths and this lucky bag value is $ 210, even higher than the one I got last year, and I'm really glad that i didn't found any product that I already own.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it, even though I was hoping for a Natasha Denona or Viseart palette, because everybody raves about them and they are pretty pricey.
I will be trying every product and yes, I've already subscribed for next year Beautylish lucky bag!
Facendo i calcoli il valore di questa lucky bag è di 210 $, persino maggiore di quello dell'anno scorso, e sono davvero contenta di non avere trovato doppioni.
Nel complesso sono piuttosto soddisfatta del contenuto, anche se mi sarebbe piaciuto ricevere una palette di Natasha Denona o di Viseart, prodotti di cui parla tutta la beauty community internazionale ma che hanno un range di prezzo davvero alto per poterle acquistare così a cuor leggero.
Proverò sicuramente tutti i prodotti e sì, sono già iscritta alla mailing list per la prossima lucky bag!
