Some may have the Africa bug, I have the England bug!
It may be because I spent 6 months in UK for my university, or because London is just an amazing city, or just because I simply adore the british accent, I don't know, what I do know is that if don't step on British soil for too long I feel incomplete.
So it was pretty easy to choose where to celebrate our first wedding annuversary: London here we come!
We booked in advance with Ryanair, their timetable are really interesting (being sarcastic of course), but at least cheaper than the other flights.
After passing their super strict luggage control, we tried to sleep, mission impossible because we were surrounded by screaming kids...whatever! Too happy to go to London again!
Landed in Stansted I went straight to VHI Smith to get a copy of Marie Claire. Why? Two mini Ciaté nail polishes of course!
C'è chi ha il mal d'Africa e chi, come me, ha il mal d'Inghilterra.
Sarà perchè ho passato qui 6 mesi in erasmus, sarà perchè Londra è una città incredibile, sarà che adoro l'accento british, non lo so sta di fatto che quando non metto piede sul suolo britannico per troppo a lungo mi sento incompleta.
Quindi decidere la meta per celebrare il nostro primo anniversario di nozze è stato facile: London here we come!
Abbiamo prenotato in anticipo con Ryanair, che ha degli orari come dire simpatici, però almeno costa relativamente poco!
Superati i fiscalissimi controlli sui bagagli abbiamo cercato di dormire, missione impossibile causa bambini strillanti, ma pazienza, la gioia per tornare in Inghilterra era troppo grande!
Appena arrivati a Stansted mi sono fiondata in edicola per comprare Marie Claire, perchè? Due mini smalti Ciaté!
Then we had a quick lunch at Pret a Manger, one of my favorite fast-food chain, even if fast food is not so appropriate since their products are handmade and natural.
My favorite one is the tomato, brie and basil baguette, but I couldn't find it so I got a chicken avocado sandwich (delicious!).
Mentre scartavo il magazine abbiamo fatto un pranzo velocissimo in quella che considero la mia catena preferita Pret A Manger, io ci sono affezionata, mi ricorda tutti i miei viaggi solitari tra Bologna e Stansted e sinceramente offre una varietà e una qualità veramente ottime.
Il mio panino preferito è la baguette con pomodoro, basilico e brie, ma non trovandola ho scelto questo chicken avocado sandwich (delizioso!).
Prendere il pullman in quel momento mi è sembrata la soluzione più e economica, ma mi sento di sconsigliarvelo perchè il traffico a Londra è davvero intenso e si rischia di perdere ore preziose imbottigliati.
End of our first day in London, I love this city!
Primo giorno a Londra terminato, bilancio super positivo, questa città non mi delude mai!

Taking the bus to get to the centre at that moment seemed the best deal to me since it was cheaper than the train, but trust me it is not! The traffic in London is crazy at any time so be prepared to waste at least two hours waiting to arrive.

A dear friend of us let us stay at his cozy and lovely house and when we arrived we found champagne waiting for us, so we made a toast and relaxed before going out to celebrate.
Per questi quattro giorni ci ha ospitato un nostro carissimo amico, appena arrivati ci ha fatto trovare una bottiglia di champagne per brindare e poi ci siamo rilassati prima di prepararci per uscire a festeggiare.
He offered us some cocktails at the Light Bar St. Martins Lane Hotel, such a glamorous and peculiar place, we love it. The drinks were amazing I had a Lemon Meringue Champagne, with vodka and vanilla in it, it tasted like a delicious lemon cake, so good!
Come regalo di anniversario ci ha offerto dei cocktail al Light Bar dell'Hotel St Matins Lane, una location davvero splendida e particolare. I drink erano deliziosi, io ho scelto il Lemon Meringue Champagne, con vodka e vaniglia, sembrava di gustare una fresca torta al limone, superlativo!
Then we walked trough Soho to reach the restaurant.
Dopo aver brindato ci siamo diretti verso il ristorante passando per Soho e i suoi infiniti negozi e locali stravaganti.
Our destination was Yauatcha, one of our favorite asian fusion in London, unforgettable!
La meta era uno dei nostri ristoranti preferiti di Londra, Yauatcha, un asian fusion indimenticabile!
After having an amazing dinner, tasting some of their most famous dishes we walked to Carnaby Street. I really wanted to see the Choccywoccydoodah store, they are pretty famous for their amazing edgy chocolate cakes and they opened this store in Soho so I really wanted to have a look to their shop window.
Dopo una cena squisita dove abbiamo assaggiato alcuni dei loro piatti più rinomati, abbiamo fatto due passi fino a Carnaby Street, volevo vedere le vetrine del Choccywoccydoodah, eccentrica pasticceria di Brighton, famosa per la lavorazione del cioccolato, che ha aperto una sede a Londra proprio nel cuore di Soho.
End of our first day in London, I love this city!
