MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show

This limited edition collection by MAC was definitely the one I was more excited about.
First of all I am a huge fan of the cult movie which is dedicated to, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, then when I first saw some pictures of the color range and the packaging I knew it was perfect for me.
The packaging is gorgeous, full of details, even the boxes are decorated inside them with the characters, and that's why for the first time I kept some.
These are the products I chose to purchase:

Questa è stata sicuramente una delle collezioni limited edition di MAC che ho atteso di più.
Intanto sono una grande fan del film cult a cui è dedicata, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, poi non appena sono uscite le prime foto ho capito dai colori scelti e dal packaging che incontrava i miei gusti al 100%.
Il packaging è stupendo, molto curato, le confezioni che contengono i prodotti sono decorate persino all'interno con i disegni in bianco e nero dei personaggi del film, infatti per la prima volta ho deciso di conservarne alcune.

Per il mio acquisto mi hanno dato 3 campioncini dei due glitter (Gold e 3D Black) e del pigmento (It's not easy having a good time) usciti con la collezione.


Let's talk about the products more in depth:
the blush really caught my eyes from the beginning, it has quite a different color in comparison to the ones I usually buy, peachy or bright pink.
This one is a darker one, a combination of purple and brown, with a slightly cool shimmer to it.
The texture is not the best one I've ever tried, but pigmentation is nice and it applies quite easily, I only need just a bit of product since my complexion is so fair.
The eyeshadow palette color scheme is very interesting, they are not obvious at all, in fact I didn't have similar ones in my stash.
Even though at the beginning I was a little bit skeptical, I must admit this palette is the one I've been reaching the most since I got it, I really love it.
The lipsticks were love at first sight, or I should say at first swatch, Frank'n'Furter is a dark red, with a berry hint and a cool undertone. It has a matte finish and it's really opaque, Oblivion is a lighter and brighter red with neutral undertone, super pigmented and easy to apply.
To be honest I got the false lashes only because of the packaging, I'm a total disaster when it comes to apply them, but one of my new year's resolution will be to learn how to put them on like a pro!

Parlando più approfonditamente dei prodotti:
il blush mi ha incuriosito subito, ha un colore davvero diverso e particolare rispetto a quelli che utilizzo di solito, rosa pesca o rosa freddo.
In questo caso si tratta di un blush scuro, tra il viola e il marrone, con un finish lievemente perlato e luminoso.
Per quanto la texture non fosse delle più morbide, non ho avuto problemi ad applicarlo, basta poco prodotto nel mio caso in quanto ho una carnagione piuttosto chiara.
Anche i colori degli ombretti della palette sono davvero interessanti, non sono colori classici, infatti non ne avevo di simili tra i miei.
Devo dire che anche se all'inizio ero un po' perplessa, in quanto non tutti gli ombretti hanno la stessa qualità anche se la maggior parte sono pigmentati e burrosi, è una delle palette che ultimamente uso di più, mi piace moltissimo.
I rossetti sono stati un colpo di fulmine, Frank'n'Furter è rosso scuro, quasi lampone, dal sottotono freddo, opaco e super coprente, mentre Oblivion è un rosso più chiaro e acceso dal sottotono neutro, lievemente freddo, anche questo opaco e pigmentatissimo, facile da applicare.
Onestamente le ciglia finte le ho acquistate principalmente per il packaging che è stupendo, perchè nonostante la mia passione per il makeup sono ancora un disastro nell'applicarle, ma tra i miei propositi del 2015 c'è anche quello di imparare ad usare le ciglia finte come una vera make up artist!

You might or might not have noticed that I'm extremely shy, nevertheless I decided to give you this bonus pics of my Halloween 2014 makeup for a vampire theemed party at my friend's house.
You can see Frank'n'Furter in action, but I also used Rif-Raf on my eyes, it's just that I have such hooded eyes (what can you do about it?!) that it doesn't show!

Nonostante io sia estremamente timida, ho deciso di regalarvi queste perle, ossia le foto del mio trucco di Halloween 2014 per una festa a tema vampiri a casa di amici. Qui vedete in azione principalmente Frank'n'Furter, ma vi assicuro che ho usato anche Rif-Raf per il trucco occhi, solo che per la conformazione delle mie palpebre (molto cadenti ma che ci posso fare) si vede poco!

Benefit Majorette & Sephora Box

Few months ago Benefit launched a brand new product, it's the Majorette cream to powder boost blush.
It's a cream blush that once is applied feels like a smooth powder.
The packaging is lovely, it's a cute orange box, actually bigger than what it looks in pictures, that opens to reveal a peachy blush (that smells delicious) and a mirror.
It applies easily and eavenly on the cheecks, you only need a tiny bit of product and you can use your fingers to put it on and blend it (at least I prefer using my hands instead of a brush for a more natural result).
It has 7 g of product and the price for it is $ 28 on Benefit website.
This product is more on the pricey side, but honestly it has great quality and opacity, pigmentation is amazing and it blends very easily. so if you are planning on splurging for yourself definitively check this one out!

Qualche tempo fa Benefit è uscita con un nuovo prodotto, si tratta di Majorette un blush cream to powder, cioè un blush cremoso che una volta applicato sembra un blush in polvere.
Il packaging è delizioso, un cofanetto arancione, più grande di quello che sembra in foto, che al suo interno racchiude il blush aranciato che profuma di pesca e uno specchietto.
L'applicazione è piuttosto semplice, basta prelevare poco prodotto e sfumarlo con le dita per avere un aspetto sano e luminoso.
La confezione contiene 7 grammi di prodotto ed è in vendita da Sephora a 33,50 Euro.
Rientriamo, quindi, in una fascia di prezzo piuttosto alta per un blush, bisogna dire però che la qualità del prodotto è ottima, la pigmentazione, la coprenza, la facilità di utilizzo e il risultato finale sono fantastici, se state pensando di farvi un regalino non me lo lascerei scappare!

Givenchy Palette Extravagancia

I finally see a way out through this flu that got me stuck in bed like for ever, that's why you haven't seen me posting on the blog in those two weeks, I was legit K.O.
I'm back to write about this amazing palette by Givenchy which is part of their autumn/winter 2014 collection, but I've seen it recently still available in some shops so i decided to write about it.

Even this palette was a birthday present from my lovely friends who know me and how much I love makeup really well.
Then if the makeup looks similar to one like this, there is absolutely no doubt I need it!
This palette looks like a precious little treasure chest, with baroque gold decoration and Givenchy logo engraved on black faux leather.
It opens pushing a small silver button and it reveals four eyeshadows, one lipstick, two small brushes and a nice big mirror.
The colours are intense and interesting, we have a grey with silver, pink and purple glitter, a vivid dark plum brown(satin), a lilachy light purple (satin) and a glittery gold.
The satin eyeshadow are pigmented and blend really well, the glittery ones have some fall outs and need some more precision to be applied well.
The lipstick it's a sheer pink/fuchsia that gives a nice healthy flush on the lips, and balance the eyeshadows intensity.
Overall I really like this palette, the colour combination it's very different from the usual nudes you expect to find.
If you are addicted to makeup just like me you haven't skipped for sure this palette, but being a precious limited edition means that also the price it's quite "precious" (54,50 Euros).

Finalmente riemergo dai miei fazzoletti, sono ormai due settimane consecutive di influenza e febbre e per questo non mi avete visto molto attiva sul blog.
Ritorno per parlarvi di questa stupenda palette di Givenchy che fa parte della collezione autunno/inverno 2014 ed è in edizione limitata, ma l'ho vista recentemente in profumerie varie quindi penso sia ancora acquistabile.
In caso contrario vi lascio il link di Ebay che può sempre fare comodo.
Anche questa palette è stato un regalo di compleanno, i miei amici mi conoscono davvero bene e sanno quanto il makeup sia il mio punto debole.
Se poi il makeup in questione ha un packaging come questo, beh allora non c'è proprio alcun dubbio.
Sembra uno scrigno prezioso, con decorazioni barocche dorate e il logo Givenchy incisi su simil pelle.
Si apre premendo un piccolo bottone argentato e contiene al suo interno quattro ombretti,un rossetto, due pennellini ed uno specchio grande.
I colori sono intensi e particolari, vanno da un grigio con glitter rosa e viola, ad un marrone quasi prugna, ad un viola/lilla, ed infine ad un oro chiaro glitterato.
I colori satinati sono più facili da applicare e sfumare, quelli glitterati hanno sicuramente più fall out e necessitano di più tempo per essere lavorati.
Il rossetto è sheer, regala un lieve tocco di rosa/fuchsia sulle labbra che bilancia i toni più scuri degli ombretti.
Nel complesso la palette mi è piaciuta molto, ho trovato davvero interessante la combinazione dei colori che in questo caso esula dai soliti nudes visti e rivisiti.
Indubbiamente è un oggetto che non sarà passato inosservato alle appassionate di makeup come me, ma trattandosi di una preziosa limited edition anche il prezzo è "prezioso" (54,50 Euro).

MAC 25th Simpsons Anniversary

I know I'm super late on this train, but I took pictures and swatches of everything, so I didn't want to waste all this material!
I'm talking about MAC 25th Simpsons Anniversary limited edition collection.
I don't know if this happens even all around the world, but here in Italy if you want to catch at least one piece of MAC limited edition collections you actually have to go hours before the store opens, otherwise everything will magically disappear.
That's basically why I placed my order online and waited for it happily at home.
Actually both of the blushes were sold out before I could open my laptop, but my brother and his girlfriend managed to get me one from MAC store in Rome, which was so sweet of them.

Mi rendo conto di arrivare un po' in ritardo, ma le foto le avevo fatte, gli swatches pure e proprio non mi andava di sprecare tutto questo materiale!
Sto parlando della collezione MAC super limitata dedicata al 25° anniversario dei Simpson.
Dato che per riuscire a trovare queste collezioni in negozio bisogna piantonarsi davanti alla porta dalle prime luci dell'alba, ho deciso di approfittare del sito e ho fatto il mio ordine online.
Per quanto riguarda il blush, che era già esaurito ancor prima di poter accendere il computer, ci hanno pensato mio fratello e la sua ragazza che furbamente lo hanno ordinato dal negozio MAC di Roma in via del Corso. Sappiate che quel negozio effettua spedizioni in tutta Italia, basta telefonare e chiedere, un'opzione in più per tutte noi makeupcompulsive.


Let's talk about the packaging, because let's be real it's stunning and eye catching.
The whole collection is dedicated to Marge Simpson, haer face is on all products' packaging.
Honestly I would have liked to see more Simpson characters, you may see a few of them on the nail stickers, but Marge is definitively all over the place.
Moving on to products' quality I have to say we have some hits and miss.
The eyeshadows quad has some pretty interesting colours, but they're not super pigmented.
The blush is pretty, but the texture is not so soft and buttery as I expected to be.
The glosses on the other side are really opaque and pigmented, very creamy and a bit sticky, if you don't mind a little bit of stickyness they're really nice.
Nail stickers and false eyelashes are both amazing.

Iniziamo a parlare del packaging perchè in questo caso, chiaramente, è la prima cosa che colpisce.
Tutta la collezione è dedicata a Marge Simpson, che ritroviamo disegnata su ogni prodotto.
Devo ammettere che mi sarebbe piaciuto vedere anche qualche altro personaggio cult, si intravede qualcosina sui nail patch, ma Marge predomina ovunque.
Per quanto riguarda la qualità dei prodotti in sè, la potremmo definire altalenante. 
Il quad di ombretti che ho scelto ha dei colori molto interessanti, ma non tutti sono super scriventi. 
Il blush è molto carino, ma l'applicazione non è proprio delle migliori.
I lucidalabbra invece sono pigmentatissimi e molto coprenti, ovviamente la texture cremosa è anche un po' appiccicosa, quindi dipende un po' dal gusto personale.
I nail patch e le ciglia finte sono fantastici entrambi.

In conclusion, if you are, just like me, a huge Simpsons fan you probably loved this collection and bought some products, in case you totally missed it you will find all the products on Amazon by clicking on their name, remember though that the price will be higher than the original one.
If you are not into cartoons and into Simpsons than probably you skipped this collection, because let's be honest, there is no revolutionary make up here, maybe the lipglasses stands out a bit more because the colours range it's pretty peculiar.
I don't regret buying anything and I would do it again for sure :)

In conclusione, se come me siete fan sfegatate dei Simpson sicuramente avrete apprezzato e acquistato qualcosa di questa collezione, se non avete fatto in tempo cliccando sui nomi dei prodotti troverete i link per poterli acquistare su Amazon, ben sapendo che ci sarà una notevole differenza rispetto al prezzo originale.
Se, al contrario, non siete interessate al cartone animato più celebrato di tutti i tempi probabilmente non avrete fatto molta attenzione a questi prodotti, perchè pur essendo limited edition non c'è niente di davvero entusiasmante e rivoluzionario, tranne forse i lipglass che sono davvero particolari.
Io non rimpiango nulla e riacquisterei sicuramente tutto :)
