Matte lips have been and still are a super popular trend, matte liquid lipsticks are a must have and only lately I've seen a change of direction.
So before going straight back to glosses, it's time do wear some metallics.
It turns out that a nice metallic lipstick it's not so easy to made, they either lack of pigmentation or they apply patchy.
I think MAC really nailed this time with this Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour metallics, they are basically liquid lipsticks with a metallic finish.
The packaging is the same MAC chose for its liquid lipsticks, with the clear tube and the classic lipsticks' cap.
The chromatic range is pretty various, but I went for the more "easy" shades, even though the one I really wanted was limited edition and sold out already (In Retrograde a fiery red).
The lipsticks I got are:
- Pearl Punk, light pink with warm undertones
- Gemz and Roses, dark nude pink with warm undertones
- Metallic Rose, vibrant pink with a hint of mauve
- Crowned, intense burgundy with cool undertones
They all have a really light texture, but as you can tell from the swatches they are really pigmented.
My lips are usually very dry and these lipsticks enphasize my lips' texture, but I don't mind it, I usually scrub and hydrate my lips anyway before applying a liquid lipsticks (I dind't before the lips swatches sorry guys!).
The metallic finish is really wearable and it gives such a nice 3D effect on the lips, making them look plumper.
I really enjoy these lipsticks, they feel comfortable on the lips and they are also longlasting.

Le labbra opache sono state e sono tutt'ora un trend super popolare, negli ultimi anni i rossetti liquidi opachi sono diventati un must have irrinunciabile e solo nell'ultimo periodo si sta tornando ad osare con prodotti con un finish diverso.
Prima di tornare al gloss, si deve necessariamente passare per i rossetti metallizzati.
Inutile dire che un buon rossetto dal finish metallico è difficile da creare, spesso la pigmentazione è scarsa, oppure l'applicazione risulta poco omogenea.
Penso proprio che MAC abbia centrato l'obiettivo in pieno con questi Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour metallics, che altro non sono se non rossetti liquidi dal finish metallizato.
Il packaging è sempre quello che MAC ha proposto per i suoi rossetti liquidi, con il tubo trasparente ed il tappo nero che riprende il packaging dei rossetti classici.
La gamma cromatica è piuttosto ampia, io ho optato per colori più "tranquilli" e portabili, anche se il rosso In retrograde che avevo puntato sin dall'inizio è andato sold out prima che riuscissi ad arrivare in negozio.
I colori che ho acquistato sono:
- Pearl Punk, un rosa dal sottotono caldo luminoso
- Gemz and Roses, un rosa nude scuro dal sottotono caldo
- Metallic Rose, un rosa acceso con una punta di malva
- Crowned, borgogna intenso dal sottotono freddo
La texture è liquida e molto leggera, ma come si vede dagli swatches sono rossetti molto pigmentati.
Le mie labbra di solito sono molto secche e questi rossetti evidenziano i segni o le screpolature, ma io non ne faccio un dramma, di solito comunque prima di applicare un rossetto liquido faccio uno scrub e applico un burro cacao molto idratante (cosa che non ho fatto prima di fare questi lips swatches...scusatemi!).
L'effetto metallico è estremamente portabile, regala una tridimensionalità alle labbra rendendole sicuramente più voluttuose.
Questi rossetti mi piacciono moltissimo, sono confortevoli sulle labbra e hanno una buona durata.
