Mac Moody Blooms

A month ago I went with my hubby to Milan to see a Klimt exhibition, one of my favorite artists for sure.

The exhibition was really amazing for me, I even got a little bit emotional, but that's how I feel when I'm standing in front of a masterpiece. It took place at Palazzo Reale, which is right next to the Duomo.

We didn't have much time, but we managed to organize a really cool schedule.

My husband is a chef so the lunch had to be something interesting, so (as we did last time when we went to see Bon Jovi, you can find the post here) we decided to have a gourmet burger at Al Mercato Burger Bar.

We are talking about some serious burgers going on right there, you can decide to spice things up adding your favorite ingredients from a list that includes foie gras, jalapenho jam and more delicatessen to try every time.

If you get a chance to be in Milan, please try these burgers because they are delicious!

So exhibition: check and yummy food: check, we went to La Rinascente, which is my favorite luxury retail store in Milan. 

That day using your Visa you could get a 10% discount on everything in the store, so I stopped by the Mac corner because I was looking for some lipstick from the Moody Blooms collection that just came out at that time. 

MAC never ever has discounts for non make up artists and usually here in Italy every new collection gets sold out pretty easily so I was super happy when i found what I was looking for and even for a cheaper price!

I was looking for Pherormonal and Phosphorescent, two new lipstick from the Moody Blooms collection.

The packaging is completely different from the classic Mac one, this one is sleek, modern and polished black, I really like it.

The finish of these two lipstick is Sheen Supreme, which is described as an hybrid between the gloss shine and the lipstick pigmentation.

The two shades i got (I've read that the others are not as pigmented) are really easy to apply, they glide on with no effort, they feel almost hydrating on the lips and the colors are pretty amazing.

Pherormonal is a vivid fuchsia pink with a cool undertone and a lustrous finish, Phosphorescent on the other side it's super bright almost electric coral with warm undertone and glossy finish.

I love both of them, and now that I'm a little bit tanned they look even better on me.

To end our quick trip in the best way, we got to the Magnum shop in Stazione Centrale and chose two limited edition Magnum 25th anniversary, Marc De Champagne and Dolce And Gabbana.

So delicious! I'm so sad that they are limited edition, because the one with champagne inside is my favorite Magnum ever, so yummy!

Un mese fa sono stata a Milano per vedere la mostra dedicata a Klimt, sicuramente uno dei miei artisti preferiti.

La mostra è stata molto bella ed emozionante, è stata allestita presso Palazzo Reale, vicinissimo al Duomo (dove con due euro ciascuno abbiamo adottato una guglia, iniziativa carinissima).

Io e mio marito non avevamo moltissimo tempo, quindi siamo stati poche ore, ma ci eravamo fatti un programmino niente male che accontentasse entrambi.

Visto che lui è un cuoco, non poteva mancare la sosta culinaria, anche questa volta (come quando siamo andati a Milano per il concerto dei Bon Jovi, trovate il post qui) siamo andati a gustarci un burger gourmet Al Mercato Burger Bar. 

Parlare di panino o di burger è davvero riduttivo, la qualità della carne è eccellente e adoro l'idea di poter aggiungere ingredienti sfiziosi a piacimento, come il foie gras o la salsa di jalapenho, quindi se vi capita di passare da Milano o magari ci vivete, andate a dare un'occhiata, secondo me rimarrete impressionati.

Quindi mostra vista e pancia piena ci siamo diretti verso La Rinascente, quel giorno usando la Visa si poteva ottenere uno sconto del 10% su tutto, anche su articoli già scontati. 

Visto che al piano profumeria e cosmesi c'è anche il corner Mac, e visto che era da poco uscita la collezione Moody Blooms, sono andata a curiosare sperando di trovare due rossetti che mi avevano particolarmente colpito.

Fortunatamente erano proprio lì ad aspettarmi, gli ultimi due, Pherormonal e Phosphorescent.

Il packaging è totalmente diverso da quello classico, cilindrico, nero lucido, con il logo riportato sia sul "tappo" che sul rossetto, davvero elegante e moderno.

Il finish è Sheen Supreme, un ibrido tra la lucentezza del gloss e la pigmentazione del rossetto.

Parlando dei due rossetti che ho acquistato (da quanto ho letto in giro, gli altri non hanno la stessa pigmentazione), sulle labbra sono morbidi, scorrevoli, non appiccicosi e leggeri, senza compromessi per quanto riguarda il colore.

Pherormonal è un rosa/fuchsia intenso dal sottotono freddo e dall'effetto lucido, Phosphorescent è un rosa corallo quasi elettrico dal sottotono caldo e dal finish luminoso, quasi glossy.

Mi piacciono davvero moltissimo, adesso che ho la pelle un po' più abbronzata stanno ancora meglio.

Per finire in bellezza, abbiamo trovato in Stazione Centrale un negozio tutto dedicato ai Magnum (che compie 25 anni!), così abbiamo provato quello Marc De Champagne e quello Dolce E Gabbana: deliziosi!

Immagino che siano edizioni limitate purtroppo, e mi dispiace perchè quello allo champagne, che è il mio preferito, è spettacolare!

29-06-13 Bon Jovi live at San Siro

I bought the tickets the day that they started selling them on the internet, I really wanted to be sure to get nice seats. Unfortunately the Diamond Ring (for those that don't know that it's a special area just beneath the stage) was sold out in 5 minutes and I didn't make it, but you never know, I may get two tickets for the next tour!
Cross Road was my first cd, I bought it with my mom and my brother with the Black Album by Metallica, yeah I know weird music tastes for a 13 years old, but after listening to Always I officially lost my mind!
I collected pretty much all Bon Jovi's albums, Cross Road and These Days are still my favorites, I play them all the time and I sing all the songs at the top of my lungs just to amuse my neighbors.
Sadly I didn't go to any of their concert in Italy, at the beginning I was too young then I couldn't find anyone to come with me, so I kept listening to my cds, dreaming of that day when I would have seen them live.
Then my hubby came along and since he's such a wonderful man he took me to Udine in july 2011 to finally make my dream come true even though he didn't know the songs very well, but in the end he was astonished.
So last year while we were celebrating our wedding with family and friends he sang for me Always and he blew everyone away and on saturday 29 one year and a week later we went to San Siro in Milan to see Bon Jovi again.
When we arrived at Milano Centrale we looked for a nice place to have breakfast and we found VyTA Boulangerie Italiana, a really nice place, the chocolate muffins were delicious!

Ho comprato i biglietti appena usciti su internet per essere sicurissima di avere posti buoni, purtroppo il Diamond Ring (per chi non lo sapesse è una piccola area a semicerchio proprio sotto il palco) era andato esaurito credo in 5 minuti e non ho fatto in tempo, ma non si sa mai, magari riesco ad accaparrarmi due posti al prossimo tour!

Cross Road è stato il mio primo cd, acquistato con mia mamma e mio fratello insieme al Black Album dei Metallica, ebbene sì gusti un tantinello decisi per una tredicenne, ma dopo aver sentito Always al Festival Bar avevo ufficialmente perso la testa.

Ho collezionato praticamente tutti gli album dei Bon Jovi, Crossroads e These Days, i miei preferiti, ormai sono consumati, ma io li ascolto sempre e li canto a squarciagola per la gioia dei miei vicini.

Purtroppo non sono riuscita ad andare ai vari concerti che hanno fatto in Italia, o ero troppo piccola oppure non trovavo nessuno con cui andarci, quindi col cuore spezzato ascoltavo i miei cd e sognavo, finchè non è arrivato mio marito che è un uomo meraviglioso e nonostante non conoscesse bene la band nel 2011 mi ha accompagnato a Udine a vederli per la prima volta ed è rimasto sbalordito.

Durante la festa del nostro matrimonio ha spiazzato tutti e mi ha dedicato Always, e ieri ad una settimana esatta dal nostro primo anniversario di nozze siamo tornati a vederli, questa volta a San Siro.

Appena arrivati in Stazione Centrale sabato mattina abbiamo cercato un bar per fare colazione, ci ha colpito subito VyTA Boulangerie Italiana, muffin al cioccolato molto buoni!

Then we went to our hotel, the Starhotels Echo, but since our room wasn't ready yet we went for a walk in the city centre, Piazza Duomo, galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Rinascente etc.

Poi siamo andati all'Hotel, lo Starhotels Echo, a pochi passi dalla stazione, ma visto che la camera non era ancora pronta siamo andati a fare un giro per Milano, tappe classiche piazza Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Rinascente etc.

We had lunch in this place called Al Mercato, it's a Restaurant/Burger bar that a friend suggested to us. They made us have a seat at the chef's table from where you could have a look at the whole kitchen, small but very organized, that divide the Burger bar from the Restaurant.

The Restaurant's menu it's various, but we wanted to try the burger since many says that it's the best one in Milan.

It's very easy to order, you have a list of basics ingredients to which add some more peculiar, the more you add the more you pay for your burger. we went with bacon and cheddar, but I think next time I'll try the jalapeno sauce or maybe even the foie gras.

The burger comes with a side which can be salad, french fries with paprika, purple potato chips or onion rings.

it was simply delicious!

Per pranzo, consigliati da un'amica abbiamo provato l'ormai famossissimo Ristorante/Burger Bar Al Mercato. Ci hanno fatti accomodare allo chef table da cui si vede tutta la piccola ma super organizzata cucina che divide il Ristorante vero e proprio dal Burger Bar.

Il menù del Ristorante è più vario, ma noi abbiamo optato comunque per un bel burger, eletto da molti come il migliore di Milano.

La formula è semplice, ci sono gli ingredienti base a cui se ne possono aggiungere altri aumentando il costo totale del burger, noi siamo andati sul classico con cheddar e bacon, ma sono interessanti anche proposte come salsa di jalapeno e foie gras.

Come side si può scegliere tra misticanza, patate fritte alla paprika, chips di patate viola o onion rings, con le varie salse.

Niente da dire, davvero strepitoso!

After lunch we wanted to walk back to the hotel but with stepped by Ladurée to get some amazing macarons.

Finito di pranzare abbiamo fatto una passeggiata verso il centro, o meglio verso i macarons di Ladurée...

Then we finally reached our hotel room to rest a little and then get ready for the gig.

Poi siamo tornati in albergo per rilassarci un po' e finalmente prepararci per la serata. 

For my make up I used the Balm Jovi Face Palette by The Balm, perfect to create some cool looks. 

I wanted to focus the attention on my eyes, I used Adagio, rem and The Stroke. Then on my lips I used a Sila lipglaze in cranberry.

Per il make up ho usato questa azzeccatissima palette di The Balm: Balm Jovi Face Palette, ho creato un look piuttosto intenso per gli occhi (ho utilizzato i colori Adagio, Rem e The Stroke) e per le labbra ho scelto il gloss della Stila nella tonalità Cranberry.

E via alla volta di San Siro!

You could feel the excitement growing the closer we got to the stadium and at some point, don't know why, I really felt thrown back to the '80...

L'atmosfera si caricava man mano che ci avvicinavamo allo stadio, San Siro fa davvero un certo effetto, e in qualche momento (non so come mai) mi sono improvvisamente sentita catapultata negli anni 80...

The gig was unforgettable, a trip on a light blue Buick between the present and the past of this amazing band longer than 3 hours.

San Siro truly showed its love, singing and clapping all the time.

The best moment was seeing Jon being emotional in front of the humongous choreography ideated by the Italian Fan Club.

I enjoyed every song, but listening for the first time to These Days and This ain't a love song was unbelievable, also for my neighbors that kept looking me like a weirdo.

it was really sad to know that Richie Sambora left the tour, but Phil X did an amazing job.

Il concerto è stato indimenticabile, un viaggio a bordo di una Buick azzurra tra il passato e il presente della band durato più di 3 ore. 

San Siro ha fatto sentire tutto il suo calore, cantando e applaudendo a tutte le canzoni. 

Uno dei momenti più belli è stato vedere Jon commuoversi davanti alla coreografia ideata e organizzata dal fan club italiano (un lavoro mastodontico), sulle note di because We Can tutto lo stadio si è colorato di bandiere italiane e di una scritta enorme che copriva gli spalti: Bon Jovi forever.

Io personalmente sono impazzita praticamente ad ogni canzone, sentire per la prima volta These days e This ain't a love song è stato incredibile, anche per i miei vicini che mi guardavano come una bestia rara.

Apprendere, alcune settimane fa, dell'assenza di Richie Sambora è stato un duro colpo, ma Phil X l'ha degnamente sostituito, tenendo il palco come un vero fuoriclasse.
