Two days in Rome

Rome is one of my favorite city, easy because it's one of the most beautiful capital in the world, it's like walking through history and present, it's a place where the sky and the sunset have their own peculiar colors.
This post is not about a classical cultural visit to the city, I go to Rome very often but I saw just a small amount of the limitless treasures that she has and that's why I don't want to write about the typical tourist tour, you will find websites and guides book for that, I just want you to show you my little time in this incredible city, taking you around with me.
When we arrived in the early morning at Roma Tiburtina train station we immediately directed to Bakery House, a lovely coffee shop in where to find american delicious recipes (such as pancakes, cupcakes, bagel etc) where I love to go to taste some delicious pancakes with strawberries and chocolate.
This time we really wanted to treat and spoil ourselves even more with two cupcakes, one was banana and peanut butter and the other one was made with Oreos, shall I say anything more?
The place it's small but cosy, you will find a lot of cakes, scones, but even burgers and more even to take away.

We left our stuff at my friend's house (she always host me when I'm in Rome, so kind!) and then we went for a walk in Prati neighborhood because I really wanted to have a look at the new Coin Excelsior in via Cola Di Rienzo, which is full of nice shops.
This new Coin really impressed me, everything is very neat and luxurious. The cosmetic area is huge, there is everything from accessories, clothes, a Nespresso corner and in the basement they opened an Eat's Market, which is a high quality market in where you can find local food but also some international delicatessen.

We really wanted to try something new for lunch so after browsing internet for a while we ended up picking Pinsere, a street food place in where you can taste the pinsa (not pizza, but pinsa) that should be the ancient roman version of a pizza.
We tried one with mozzarella di bufala, cherry tomatoes and basil and the other one potaoes, scamorza and ciauscolo (which is a spreadable salami).
The pinsa dough is super light and so it's very digestible. It's so yummy and delicious I really recommend you to try it!

Next stop Ladurée to have some macarons, that I adore. I'm almost happy that there is no Ladurée in Bologna because I'd end up with no money and diabetes for sure, I'm obsessed!
I tend to choose the classic ones, vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, nut and salted caramel, my husband on the other hand really likes the fruity and peculiar ones.
As usual we enjoyed our macarons sitting on Piazza Di Spagna' steps, which now is full of flowers and it's gorgeous.

After this sweet break we went to see an exhibit at Palazzo Sciarra dedicated to '700 british paint.
I love art. i'm a true passionate and Rome offers limitless shows and exhibits that would be difficult to find elsewhere (sometimes impossible when it's a private collection).
This exhibit was amazing, the set-up was outstanding and the fact that they organized all the paintings in seven different room made the visit very interesting and exciting.

We ended our first day with a quick visit to my favorite jewelry shop Escat in Monti, one of the most picturesque neighborhood in Rome and then we chilled in a nice bar with some drinks and snacks.
I bought some stuff from Escat that I will show you in my next post that will be an earrings haul.

Day two was busy for me, cause I had to be attending a lesson all afternoon, but since my morning was free we decided to have a walk in Villa Borghese's beautiful gardens where I took these photos (even if I had only my phone they turned out amazing!).

We had a quick lunch at Ginger, a nice restaurant/bistrò with a lot of healthy salads, smoothies and fruit salads, but they also have traditional dishes such as carbonara and delicious cheeses and cold cuts.
I went for a rich salad with almonds and apples on top and my hubby decided for a nice baguette filled with grilled zucchini, scamorza and prosciutto.

I hope you found this post interesting and maybe that you got some inspiration for an eventual trip to the eternal city!
